Standing next to you outside the darkroom, in the middle of our second conversation about the girl in your photograph who's lips you seem to like, I made a safe assumption that you liked full lips. Why weren't you noticing mine? I secretly wanted to be the girl in the photograph you were working on.

...
I saw this lip charm and thought of you. I added it to my charm bracelet as a little reminder of you.

the woman in this frame
"it is a joy to be hidden
and a danger not to be found."
and a danger not to be found."
i found (and bought) this frame in a small shop in venice. i have always loved antiques and especially loved the mystery behind the woman in this frame. i wonder if at the time this photograph was taken, if she had found true love, was she happy or sad, was she lost? did she live a long life? i know she had green eyes.
(or she might have been uncomfortable with the dress, baring her shoulders and having to hold that pose for awhile. it all depends on who was photographing.....unless she/he managed to capture her soul?...:)

a trembling seizes me all over
"Love is a cunning weaver of fantasies and fables."
~ Sappho (Greek Poet, 630 BC)

“When I look on you a moment, then I can speak no more,
but my tongue falls silent, and at once a delicate flame
courses beneath my skin, and with my eyes I see nothing,
and my ears hum, and a wet sweat bathes me,
and a trembling seizes me all over”
~ Sappho
