And here's the famous David. Unfortunately the sun gave his face a sorta harshness to it. At least that is what I noticed.
I love the old fashion feel of this one.
This one below is interesting to me because of the large statue hovering over the people and how the sun is hitting on the statue's face and he appears to be looking away to avoid direct sunlight. Plus the guy sitting on the fence (center) looks funny.

great photos as usual lo...and hey that veil'd woman is me and i'd be flattered if u added me as a contact on flickr. though there are not many pix there...i like taking pictures but i feel very shy taking them, am uncomfortable drawing attention to myself...have to get over this stupiditiy...this blog was an attempt at that.

statue aesthetics aside, he probably made for a better picture -inside- the cage, of course...
do you take your b/w pictures in b/w, or take them digitally in color and desaturate them to b/w? I always think I'm going to b/w-ify a picture, but it's so hard to let go of the color...

Great photos! These bring back memories of my visit. But the Uffizi was closed. So, I didn't get to see the statue of David. : ( But that's better than showing up in Paris on Tuesday, when the Louvre is closed (I believe). Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for the comment.
actually this statue was outside the gallery. the actual 'david' is in the Gallery of the Accademia. I was lucky to visit both.

actually as much as i love sunsets i can't believe it never crossed my mine to do that! i guess all the walking/long days made me too tired to get up for that. i have to add that to my list of things to do next time i go there. i didn't go on a gondola ride either. i figured i should save something for my return which i hope it will be a more romantic trip.
absolutely gorgeous pics...I'm so impressed. I love photography, but have never gotten into it professionally, or even on a greater level than that of my children....very nice.

Michaelangelo's David's face has a sort of worried look on it. But that's cuz he's worried about having to fight Goliath. ;)
I remember hearing that on a tv show about the statue, they zoomed in really close on his face. I had no idea he had a worried look on his face, I always focused on his bod. :p
wow that's interesting zulema, i didn't know this. well the sun definitely added to the worried look. i saw him at the galleria but i didn't notice that. his face looked pleasant but then again david was tall and i couldn't get a close-up of his face.

anyhow, David stands at 4 meters and 10 centimeters in height.
