flowers at work

i never thought that i would be someone that would recieve flowers at work but it happened to me this morning and i am floored!!! i didn't believe my co-worker when he told me.....i can't believe it still, flowers for me! wow. they are purple irises. beautiful. this would be a romantic thing if they were from someone i'm in love with but since that isn't the case ...... the card was signed secret. i have no idea who this could be!!!

a little update: secret is a little less secretive now. i thought it was just a joke, the person who had commented as secret but it wasn't and it is this person who sent them to me and i just wanted to say Thank you very much. i hope you don't mind that i'm putting the spotlight on you now :) After reading the reason behind it, I was moved, I was touched and I'll never forget this beautiful thing that you've done. the purple lilies are lovely and decorating my room and brightening my spirit. Thank you.

i'm running through my mind wondering who would do this??? who would want to remain anonymous?? i can't help but feel a little creeped out. it's an uneasy feeling. i noticed they excluded admirer (secret admirer) so maybe it's just a friendly thing?

anyhow, i will enjoy this moment because i can no longer say that i have never recieved flowers at work. despite them being nameless, i will love them :)

so secret, thanks for making me feel special and for sending flowers to
decorate my day :)

ironically my horoscope said "Your energy's up and the world's pretty much at your feet, smiling up at you and holding out a bouquet. "

Heyyyy lorena....
First to post on this one! Yaaay! :) COngrats on recieving your first ever bunch of flowers at work!!! :) Hope its the first of many more to come ;) (Maybe in the future from someone, from whom you long for the flowers too) :)
I know its really nice when you get such surprises.. A warm feeling when you think that someone spent that little extra time, for you.. Isnt it? Hope the sender reveals his/her identity, cos that would make it even better. (assuming its someone whom u know)

johnny boy :: thanks :) yeah, it feels nice and it would be nice if more were on the way but i'm not greedy. i love surprises. i wonder when they will?!

secret :: clever :) trying to be cute, i see. i like it, of course who you are is yet another secret! oh well.

flowers from a secret admirer AND a blog comment too. someone has their eye on you and no, not a creepy type eye I suspect but a rather more romantic one.
go lorena go!!!

cocaine jesus :: i don't know about this secret person....i think that blog comment was just someone having a little fun, who knows. i'm definitely going!!! :)

irina :: i hope so too. it's just uncomfortable not knowing why this person did not want to make themselves known. i guess i shall see what happens...i looked up some symbolism and found this:

The iris is the symbol of the rainbow Goddess, Iris, who was a messenger of the Gods. She travelled back and forth between Heaven and Earth and this lovely little flower was sacred to her.

Congrats! Your secret admirer is probably one of the bloggers or an officemate or a nieghbor. Forget the creepy feeling about it, just enjoy the moment with the scent and beauty of the flower.

I love the irises. Maybe who gave them is not as important as the gift itself?

Delightful surprise and with my favorite flowers!! Gorgeous & intriguing. It's invigorating to feel special and you deserve this joy!

BTW, please help me with my blog question. I don't know if my blog does not show "new post" on your blogroll since it's not hosted at blogspot? Do I need to register it somewhere? I thought it automatically showed updates, but I have two blogs. It seems the one at "Good Vibrations" hosted by blogspot, is the one that shows "new post" on the lists. Maybe that's the url you need? If I need to register somewhere, please drop me an email. Thx

P.S.(In your blogroll the word is **updated**; some list as **new post**) I don't care about the words; just want to know how to let you know when "Silken Threads" is updated. My email is in my profile on each blog. Thx. :)

May each petal of those flowers signal new joyous adventure in your life.

"Lori walked in about 30 minutes later, and the room got quit. She sat next to me, her eyes were heavy and her smile was quivered. She asked me to marry her."

So has this happened ;)?

My brotherinlaw bought me flowers when one of my poems got published, which made my husband sligtly embarrassed, but without doubt flowers are my favourite gift even though my cats seem to think its their duty to eat them

The flowers are BEAUTIFUL! Glad it wasn't roses. They are so cliché. So you have no clue who it could be? I can see how it can be a little creepy but it's probably an innocent gesture of appreciation. Disfruta
las flores!

Lovely, just lovely. Your horoscope was right. What does it say today? I might have to start calling you Angela for your heavenly messenger role, though Lorena is nicer. So now secret is not so secret anymore? Well, you're quite a catch. Kudos to him for recognizing.

It was me!!! Just kidding . . . . : )

I hope you find your mystery man!

Anonymous Poet said...

So (since you are now an expert on this topic) if I sent a girl some flowers and poems anonymously, do you think the reaction would be good -- or bad?

Sue hardy-Dawson said...

Thank-you Lorena, it was a while back now in February. It's called 'The Creak' and it's a children's poem in a book by Macmillan 'Monster Poems' It's a shape poem not easy to post

Lorena said...

.:A:. - i'll let you know :)

thanks rhein :)

anonymous poet :: i think it's a sweet gesture as long as there is some common interest. otherwise it could seem strange but then again a mystery is always great. this girl, i'm sure you can figure out if she would like it. overall, flowers and poems, who couldn't resist that!! go for it :)

sue hardy-dawson :: i understand but thanks for getting back to me :)

Pincushion said...

oooooh, i am late here! but better late than never! :)) I am all for mysteries! Such beautiful flowers..but then one beautiful person deserves a beautiful gesture!

amiethinggoes said...

and he has a blog dedicated to lorena! i say that is so romantic! uh just as long as this mr.secret doesn't start to follow you around hiding in every dark corner.

I dunno Lorena whether to believe this secret tale or not but it was fun living the moment with you - the joy and embarassment of getting flowers at work. I received them couple of times and I had tough time explaining them. :-))

Cheers
