to love is to battle

to love is to battle, if two kiss
the world changes, desires take flesh
thoughts take flesh, wings sprout
on the backs of the slave, the world is real
and tangible, wine is wine, bread
regains its savor, water is water,
to love is to battle, to open doors,
to cease to be a ghost with a number
forever in chains, forever condemned
by a faceless master;
the world changes
if two look at each other and see

today a co-worker and musician made me feel special. he came by and revealed that he had written & recorded a song inspired by me and our conversations. i got to listen to it, it was very nice. its message was to be careful with your love. being cautious was Me a few years ago but i've learned to take risks. it was a lovely surprise.

happy valentine's day :)

It's hard enough to see ourselves, let alone another person. What blessings when two people "see" each other.

Happy Valentine's Day to you, too.

Hmmm... be careful with your love, huh? I'll have to think about that one. I think I'm free with my love, but careful with my self. Does that make sense?

I was always under the impression it was easier for 'simple' people to "see" each other. Anyway, here's to throwing caution down North Michigan! Inspiring music!

sk8rn :: i think it makes sense. i love a lot of people i'm just careful with those i 'love'. depends on the type of love where i take caution.

madelyn :: yeah it was a nice surprise. i think it's great to be an inspiration to somewhere but i don't think i am to many....sometimes you are when you least expect it :)

Ô¿Ô :: i like what you said....hmm...very interesting! i'm all for taking risks!! yay! :)

Lorena! Be my valentine! Happy Valentines day! Sorry I haven’t been round, laziness goes hand in hand with procrastination. Good to see your still writing and snapping away. Catch you later.

it's good that you've learned to take risks. magic happens when you take the right ones...

I wish someone would be inspired by me enough to write me a song =)

This was very sweet :)

Valentine's day's gone by, but I hope you had a nice one :)

P.S. I've taken too many risks. Now it's time to be cautious.. At least I'll FEEL safe..

You are someone's muse.

The poem reminds me how when two people are together all of a sudden there is a transcendence that takes place with everything around you because you no longer live for yourself in yourself, but seem to be projected into them. The transcendence doesn't take you away from the world, but binds you more closely with it. You get to a state where you feel that everywhere is love. A kiss freezes that moment. It brings you together and you feel like one entity. Every time the world changes, you have to be careful stepping into it, that you will not trip. I like your attitude though: it's worth the risk.
