tonight i am wearing destiny

tonight i am wearing destiny
dispersing it in all the places
i would like for you to kiss me

i trace my lips in nude
and fill them in the color red
i think of how the heels i'm wearing
could possibly lead me to your bed

am i ready?

studying my reflection in the mirror
i look for the answer

~the music keeps playing~
satisfied with my outfit
i comb my hair
and this is the part of the song that makes me dance

excited that this could be the night
i am a flower ready to bloom
i have waited for all my life
i am ready to expose my wounds

the song finishes
my hope diminishes
i sit down and look outside
i feel too much inside
it weighs me down

i am waiting but sadness is the only thing that arrives
you don't
you who doesn't have a face, a name
anymore

i don't know.

***************************************************************************
later that night, 33 minutes to be exact, there was a knock at the door. i opened it and saw a bouquet of lillies --lillies mean, "i dare you to love me" -- and you were standing behind them. i like a good dare.
you took my hand and whisked me away. and the rest is herstory ;)

oh Lorena...you captured it...
you truly did...my heart is
soooo heavy as if i can see
your little hands folded in
your lap - i can FEEL this
poem and for once i really
don't have any words...
a little masterpiece.

ok - found some words...

"tonight i am wearing
destiny" (immortal and vital)

destiny is spooky Lorena,
i can feel it's magic working
in a strange way in my life
as it will work in yours...
-in New York maybe!!!!!!

how bittersweet. that first line--and the poem--is great.

"I feel too much inside". That sums up how I'm feeling right now. Beautiful post, Lorena!

I liked the theme of 'getting ready' in this. Ready for a date, ready for intimacy, ready to blossom, ready to take chances, ready to live, ready to lose, ready to accept the deflowering as flowering.

The Sun, obscured by a rainy day,
misses the Sunflower,
as it turns away

Startling yet serene, your words stand alone, without props or
adornments. It doesn't seem possible, but then again... Why not? A lovely defloral arrangement!

It isn't possible that a woman like you, was without love! Has you look at around?

It was nice to watch as you prepared for this moment. You certainly seemed more animated than this manniquin. Sometimes our minds play tricks on us but you have nothing to fear. He came after all didn't he, your dashing man? With some good sense to bring symbolic flowers too!

This is one of my favorite works of yours, from the title (love it) to references like "painting your lips in nude" the "heels that could lead to bed" and/or dance in the monlight, "the anticipation and blooming" and even the ending could be a new beginning.

You're so ripe for love. I hope and hope for you!
