make it meaningful

Old friends pass away, new friends appear. It is just like the days. An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend or a meaningful day.

It's funny sometimes when you go for a year or so and realize (or you think you've realized with some sense of certainty and panick) that you'll never see a certain someone again. In moments of melodrama, I catch myself ascribing too much meaning to this fact, thinking: my! Isn't it sad?...when after all it's just an illusion. The experience should/would have meant just as much if I happened to see that friend tomorrow...or never again.

Lorena: I've been so fortunate to have made so many genuinely good, loyal friends. This does lend meaning to our lives!

Good advice indeed! So hard to accomplish at times, but so rewarding!

I agree with sirbarret; we often forget the importance of the "Here and now". If we managed to keep faith to this principle our lives would be more intense, richer, and therefore, longer.

This is part of the cycle of life which I realize greatly with the passing of my dad.
