watching images passing by

"I will not be just a tourist in the world of images,
just watching images passing by which I cannot live in,
make love to, possess as permanent sources of joy and ecstasy."
~ Anais Nin ~

Today would be Anais Nin's birthday. She is best known for her diaries,
which she began writing at age 11. I read her volume one and fell in love with her words, her observations. Now I am reading volume two. She is like the friend you wish you had. So full of life, of wisdom and such magic with words!

This is a photograph taken with my diana.

I'd say she's the decadent friend you always wanted around :) But you are right, she is a true inspiration, full of life and ideas. And she is so imperfect it takes her close to perfection.

Ok, that's it! My next book will be by Anais Nin. I've been wanting to read her for years. The diaries must be really interesting, as I'm a snoopy girl. ;)

Lovely camera!

The film was lovely. There were a few dragging moments but forgivable. The ending though was a lttle..well..bereft of something..I can't exactly point what. Perhaps because it was some sort of mixture between resolution and confusion. Then again, that is how it should actually be for Henry and June...because..the story of Anais has not yet ended..but that particular film has.

It was a tad sad though for Anais to be ushered into the realization..or shall we say, "birth of womanhood" in such a pained manner. We all have moments as such. It was just sad that the film ended on that note.

But it also left me with the knowledge and inspiration of strength.

You know, come to think of it, she has made me understand myself a whole lot deeper. She has made me respect my thoughts instead of denying them.

How I wish I could share this with my friends here, Lorena. But..they wouldn't understand. They will not see beyond infidelity and all the sexual components of Anais. This is even more regretful.

I am searching here for her books...

I cannot imagine you as just a tourist, but maybe in some ways, we all are.
