stay this way

" say that you'll stay
forever this way
forever and forever
that we'll never
have to change
don't move
don't breathe
don't change
don't leave
and promise me
say you'll stay
we'll stay
this way"

"this way"

I know people like to make fun of Jewel but I love her. You know that song "you're always crazy, in the morning, smoking your cigarettes, and making some comment on the weather..." or something like that, just an example of the kind of lyrics sung by her cute little voice through her cute twisted teeth that brighten my day. I noticed you're into the Winterson too. She's hilarious!! Have you read "the passion"? Cool. Well, things can't stay the way they are, but I can relate with those who want them too sometimes. It would be nice if the weather stayed a little cooler, like it was in the spring.

hello..I'm Jamie from Madison, WI. Regarding your movies...Eternal Sunshine...was my favorite of 2004. Is there a more honest relationship movie?

Girlfriend, I think you and I could stay up all night listening to songs we love.

Today, I was just thinking about her song, "Hands." I LOVE this one, too!

I loved jewel, still do...but i think her music has gone for a tailspin with her recent album...sigh.

I read this poem and i really liked it.

"I wish I could see through your eyes,
so I would know what you like to see.

I wish I knew your wishes,
so I could give you everything you want.

I wish I dreamed the same dreams you do,
and together we could make them come true,

I wish I knew what makes you happy,
so I could make you the happiest person in the whole world.

And lastly, I wish I were a cell in your blood,
so I would be sure I was somewhere in your heart."

intensely beautiful photo ;)

change can be so difficult in relationships. especially when a single shift can make such a difference!

thanks for posting thoughtful words combined with such a lovely image.

As if the windy, never stopping and sometimes apparently constantly accelerating train of change could be stopped. Just in the stilness of the lover's sleeping body there is the movement of countless electrons away from the single moment of eternal happiness we beg Heaven to be cristalized in granite. Even in the picture of the sleeping lover...

But in the uncertainty of the place the electron is at it path lies the possibility. The possible space of othere realities, parallel or entwined, and among them the one of growning, with or without, the one of completness after the thousand pieces a human can be scattered toward the infinite by a love whose intensity was superior the strenght to hold.

Because even the statues die along the road of time.

So let us better ask that fusion of ourselves, the lovers, not be a piece of stone, but the continuoum itself, the space, the adding of all the moments until what is subject to time perish, the sume of all explosions, the birth and death of supernovas, The melting vaporizing and rebirth of new stones. An eternity, but not fixed, an eternity in eternal change, where we could be one day for one another the breath of a butterfly or an abyss in the sea...

Voyaging toward all the cardinal points of possibilities at the same time...

Hey, Lore, I had in the arms, and was in the arms of a greatly beloved woman under the notes of Jewel's "Pictures of you" (Was that the name of the album? -sometimes you feel a love thousand years away, some days you feel it was yesterday). Each time I hear the song that was later used in the Batman picture I could swear I can smell her hair... ;0)

Beautiful piece, Lorena, beautiful, yes, you transmit the desperation before possibility of Love's death, or the hurting need of an inmortal romance as your love is inmortal. Oh, girly, I admire you so much, Lore...

What it is, a digital composition?

Tell me, beautiful...

Take care and God bless you...

H.

Sorry 'bout the kitty t-shirt, I understood everything wrong, but at least is good to know she called home... :0)

I totally dig Jewel, she had a hard life and she stuck to her guns, a woman of integrity....but alas, one thing comes to mind when I read those containing words:

if you love somebody set them free....Sting.

stella :: thank you. i got lucky with all the wonderful colors that night. earlier that day someone mentioned there trip to puerto vallarta and i remembered this pic i had taken there and so i wanted to post it and the lyrics of jewel came to mind.

sue hardy-dawson :: also i'm a little envious that 'their' love will continue always for they are
frozen like this. that is what i thought of when i looked at this. how lucky they are :)

free. we free ourselves in the process.

I like how the picture is so far removed from the stereotype..a sharp contrast to the lines, and yet succint in its message.

Then God was digital that day... :0)

Seriously, the light of the sky was so ideal for the drama, with the perfect tones of purple of the last breath of the day. Makes you think about the mortality of us and the inmortality of love, the end of the day and the eternal bronze lovers, yeah, you talk with images, poet, you take colors and light and shadows as verses. You are a badass artist... :0)

Take care and God bless you...

H.

Lorena said...

itineranting :: thanks for your observation :) i see a likeness and contrast now that you mention it. what do you mean 'far removed from the stereotype?'

poem & writing :: thanks :)

the scientist :: you're the badass poet, writer, ARTIST :) but thanks for your sweet words!! "the mortality of us and the immortality of love" i can really see that now!

thanks & take care as well friend :)

Nice pic.. guess the poem refers to a sculpture or statue.. for a moment I was abt to comment.. What we would be dead w/o breathing moving etc.. :))

Lorena said...

thanks vivhyd :) the lyrics come from an emotion experienced, it's a feeling not to be taken literally. but we all can see it so differently which is good.

The picture is so soul smacking. I owe you big time for watering my dry soul, girl. It's good to try to believe there's gonna be someone who will really stay when everybody else leaves. Even despite strong storms and hurricanes.

Amen to Jewel. Ah but if only she had stayed the way she were in her first 2 albums!

Lorena said...

carolvs :: thanks :)

chikididu :: we must always have hope. 'soul smacking' i like that description :) hope you're doing well.

i'm sure jewel will come back to her original style, i hope :)

I don't really know jewel. I really must investigate her (?)

I was thinking about your Orson Rega Card quote. Does that really make any sense? What do you think it means?

Dulce said...

wow...what a beautiful and moving picture..

Lorena said...

roger :: not necessarily, that wasn't suppose to be the main focus of the post. the photograph is the main feature.

on the quote, yes definitely it makes sense. i have many words i have never said (with heart) that are ready to be spoken to the right person. i definitely identify with it. for example many people have never said 'i love you' or 'i'm sorry'.

thanks dulce :)

Great photo. Dont know much about Jewel.

Lorena said...

thanks .:A:. and Tazeen.

potted-flower :: if you must then it's ok but hurry back!! :)

thanks neel and you don't really have to know anything about her since that isn't the point of the post.

Itineranting said...

Hey Lorena, what I meant was that one would not usually have a picture like that with lines like those - it would be stereotypical to put a cutsie kinda pic with to go with those lines; your is uniquely different.
