lets face the music

dancing is a very intimate way of expressing yourself with someone and i'm usually a little shy to do so with a stranger but on those days when i'm able to feel uninhibited, the experience is amazing and i especially love to be spinned! :)

i love to watch professional ballroom dancers, it's so sensual.
i took these pictures when i apparently needed better lighting,
perhaps a flash or to be standing at a different place.
still i love the captured movements of this couple
dancing tango.

i think the pics look good ... how the siluette of the dancers is caught while in movement... pretty cool pics... como siempre lorena buenas fotos.

Love the pics! I guess if you were trying to do a photo book on how to ballroom dance you could do the flash, etc., but for effect I love the silhouette--it makes your eye find the dancers against the background. Especially the woman backlit by the window --so beautiful!

Great Job!

ooh! That's hot! As Austin Powers says, "Grr baby! Verry Grr!"

I bet you could edit the levels on those pix, but you'd need an image editor like Adobe Photoshop, or even Adobe Elements.

Happy camera clicking! :-D

i happen to know a little of ballroom dancing. and extremely enjoy dancing.and it's really a good form of exercise, you'll never know you're sweating it all out because it is quite enjoyable. btw love the pic.

those pictures were beautiful girl! the shadows and the poor ligtning sort of gave them a dark sexy moodiness....must have been beautiful to watch!

uninhibited dancing is as good as...i can only imagine! :) but its true you can't do it all the time.

I find tango to be one of the most erotic and sensual dances...each bend, twist and turn of the body speaks of latent deire hiding behind the sensual moves...I wish I was good at dancing...tango would then be the first one I'd love to learn...

I've heard said that dancing is a lot like making love, only better. Me, I want to learn the salsa. :)

tomas :: oh you mean because of your poem? maybe subconsiously...i had taken these 2 years back. "emotion in motion", i like that. (reversed it :)
thanks!!

zulema :: i'm not to familiar with the software. maybe i'll take a class on it this fall. good idea..thanks girl.

samudraa :: oh i wish i looked like that ;) thanks.

amie :: thanks. i've taken some classes as well. not ballroom though. it is a good form of exercise with the right partner.

gulnaz :: i like the description "dark sexy moodiness"!!! you have a way with words. it was great to watch though i didn't get to fully experience because i was snapping away!!

anil :: i agree with you, it is. i'm sure you'd be good if you take some classes, go for it!! :)

carolvs :: only better, wow! i guess with the right person i bet it is. hmmm. i know salsa, in fact tonight that is what i will be doing underneath the stars. it's an outdoors dance festival set in a garden. it's pretty.
so sign up for some classes!!

stella said...

very sexy photos... i think i need to sign up for tango classes now... ;)

DeCoMpOsEd said...

i took salsa and tango classes before... good fun...

Lorena said...

hi stella, you should!! :) make sure you wear heels, it helps.

decomposed :: yeah, that's cool. i never did tango. in the classes you switch partners and with tango it requires you get real close, very erotic (as someone mentioned above) can't do that with a stranger.

stella said...

no worries, i'm addicted to heels! :)

iamnasra said...

Its true you have captured every passing moment..there you in the depth of your creativity holding the tiny datails of the spin of musica and dance

very inspiring

Lorena said...

that's right stella, you and transience have that in common :) i remember reading that...!

iamnasra :: thank you for such a lovely way of saying it :) you're sweet.

Well, Lorena I can see now why they say two to Tango ;-) and thanks for those pics though I could catch only the silvouttes maybe that is the effect you intended ;-)

Inhibition and you ?? How do those two go in the same sentence! Ah well what do I know!

Loved it too much ...

Makes me wish i could dance. I think the swing or the jive would be so awesome to learn! But i'll settle to learning how to move my feet to a beat without lookling like a complete moron.

pure emotion! I love the dance. My favorite is pic 204. The way her silhouette is painted against that window.... breathtaking!

Great pics L, thanks so much!

What panty-wetting pictures! These very pieces urged me to do some panty-changing action, dearest girl. I enjoy dancing myself. Now I know why I've never done any Tango. Who would've thought to bring spare panties to a dance class, right?

What flashlight? No flashlight is required! Sometimes blunder turns out to be a blessing in disguise.

Beautiful post. Dancing is such an intimate moment and you have captured it well. The black and white lends even more to it.

What can I say? Again, some wonderful shots. One day I will learn to Tango, thanks for reminding me.

Every one of us is facing the music, one way or the other. No?

Wonderful shots.

My asperations ended when I froze on stage, that's what I like about drawing and writing, you can just keep doing it till you get it right, no one need ever know how many trees you've destroyed in the persuit of perfection

after that I setteled for having a ballet dress to party in (it was the 80s so anything went) minr was black with sequins all over the top, in those days I was really skinny, so I felt like a ballet dancer but no pressure

Pincushion said...

ahhhh..such fluidity in the pics and the b/w moodiness makes the mood ever so intimate! Poetry in motion..no?!!
Your pics are always a revelation!

Pincushion said...

Hey i think i'm gonna be inspired by these to paint something! Do i have your permission :) ?!!

corinna :: thanks. now that you mention it, i would love to dance with ellen as well. she is sooo funny!! you can get famous with your blog and then get an interview or maybe send a video, you're creative, i'm sure you can think of something.

many thanks for your sweet words :)

canadian corona :: thank you. hope you do :)

shirazi :: yeah, that is another way of looking at it. i chose that title because it reminded me of a jazz song.
"lets face the music and dance" thanks!

sue hardy :: oh wow. well i'm glad you found another creative outlet. its amazing how just putting on a costume (outfit) can make you step outside of yourself. thanks for sharing :)

pincushion :: love the description. especially the "moodiness" you described. never looked at it that way. i think its great, "poetry in motion" that would be so cool if you can see that. big thanks :)

look forward to seeing your painting!!! :)

thanks eden!! :)

J'aime beaucoup beaucoup le tango .
Tous les jours j'écoute des disques de tango et je danse , seul , dans le couloir .
Pendant un an , j'ai pris des leçons de tango argentin , c'est merveilleux !

I like much much the tango. Every day , I listen to discs of tango and I dance, alone, in the corridor. During one year, I took lessons of Argentinian tango, they are marvellous!
